The world is coming to Phoenix Contact—or at least the world of charging technology. From September 22 to 25, 2026, the leading names in e-mobility will gather in Blomberg. CharIN e. V. was founded in 2015 with the goal of establishing fast charging using the Combined Charging System (CCS) in Europe. For this reason, Phoenix Contact joined forces with leading automakers to form the Charging Interface Initiative, or CharIN for short. Today, the organization is active worldwide with more than 300 members and stands for much more than just charging electric cars.
The four-day Testival is not only a forum for practical exchange among leading experts in charging infrastructure, vehicle manufacturers, and software developers, but also aims to shed light—through engaging presentations and discussions—on how the future of electric mobility and energy grids are converging, where the obstacles lie, and what potential solutions exist to ensure that Europe, in particular, does not fall behind in the global innovation boom.
And while exciting presentations and discussions await visitors in the conference area, engineers and specialists are hard at work on the test track surrounding the All Electric Society Park, fine-tuning their respective technologies, running cables, connecting plugs, and wiring test stands and vehicles. That’s because the CharIn Testival not only offers a forum for theoretical exchange but also brings together practitioners from all over the world.
