Frank Possel-Dölken has taken over the chairmanship of the steering committee of the Platform Industry 4.0. The Chief Digital Officer of Phoenix Contact took over the role in rotation from Dr. Frank Melzer, CTO of Festo. In line with Corona, the handover took place purely virtually as part of the Hannover Messe Digital.
Possel-Dölken has set his sights on a new digitalization push for the topic of Industry 4.0. He sees the digital twin and the European cloud project GAIA-X as central elements. The network of over 350 players from more than 150 organizations from politics, business, science, trade unions and associations, he said, provides the necessary backing to show that technology can be excellently reconciled with economic and ecological sustainability.
