Johanna Hjärne has been the new General Manager of Phoenix Contact Sweden since January 2026. The 37-year-old top manager has a broad foundation of management experience in companies, including responsibility for sales at electronics distributor Elfa Distrelec, and is still active on the management board of Svensk Elektronik (Swedish electronics trade association).
“It really motivates me to work with people, build strong teams and see how commitment, motivation and collaboration drive performance and success,” says Hjärne, describing the spirit with which she approaches her new role at the Swedish site in Huddinge near Stockholm.
Phoenix Contact’s Swedish subsidiary enjoys special attention, as it was the first foreign subsidiary that the up-and-coming company opened in 1982. For Gerd Eisert, one of the three sons of company patriarch Josef Eisert, it is almost a home game, as his wife Christine was born in Sweden.
When Johanna Hjärne is not working for Phoenix Contact, the Swede keeps fit with outdoor activities such as skiing and golf. When she was a child, the Swede could never have imagined that her career would take her to the top of a company. Back then, her preferred career choice fluctuated between being a chef and a fighter pilot.
